As with all Jeeps they are never quite done, mine is no exception. I bought my '64 CJ5 in 2000 off a used car lot up here in Northern Lower Michigan. It ran fine and I used it for a few years pretty much stock. Then I had the opportunity to start my resto-mod. The sheet metal was in great shape and with a little patching and grinding I had the body redone. I removed the 134 and swapped in a 1975 231 odd fire. It has been a work in progress for a few years. It was completed in 2009. I have Holbrook springs, bigger brakes and power-steering to name a few mods. I did have a setback when the block developed a issue in the oil gallery (re-builder took an ill advised short cut to plug a crack, not known to me) and the engine had to come out. I found a rebuild-able block and should have a whole Jeep by the time the snow melts. I do have to say it climbs like a goat, to the amazement of my Jeep friends they watched me climb a hill that no other Jeep was able to make, I did it first with the 'ole '64.
